Compliance means following necessary laws and regulations. The purpose of corporate compliance is to promote practices for prevention, detection, and resolution of instances of conduct that do not conform to federal and state laws, payer's requirements and hospital policies.

ICEGEIN maintains one of the Industry's leading compliance programs, Information security is strictly followed as per HIPAA and violations of any of these rules are considered as a serious offence and the Compliance Committee takes immediate corrective and preventive action.

Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is responsible for implementing various related provisions of HIPAA.

HIPAA deals with Privacy, Security and Standardization. It establishes national standards for electronic health care transactions and national identifiers for providers, health plans, and employers besides addressing the security and privacy of health data. Adopting these standards improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the billing process.

ICEGEIN being an offshore business associate for the US health care industry strictly follows all HIPAA regulations related to data protection, data transfer and data security.

ICEGEIN's Compliance Program

ICEGEIN has a designated Compliance Officer, who educates the staff on compliance, handles periodic internal audit to ensure the same, monitor for non-conformities and takes necessary corrective and preventive action and also take care of continual improvement of the process.

Reporting and Redressal

All associates are encouraged to inform of any kind of non-conformity, which they come across, to the Compliance Committee.

A compliance number is made available to the associates for them to make an anonymous call on instances of non-conformity to the Compliance Committee. The Committee shall initiate an RCA procedure and implement.

The Compliance Committee consists of representatives of all departments who reinforce the compliance program in their respective teams and also actively participate in auditing other teams for ensuring conformity with laid rules and regulations.

A Corrective And Prevention Action (CAPA) if necessary.

All team managers and team leaders are responsible for supervising their respective teams to be compliant along with the representative of the Committee in their team.

An RCA (root cause analysis) is done by the Compliance team for any non-conformity observed.

Based on the conclusions a corrective action or preventive action or both are decided and included in the process after required validation.

All the CA and PA taken are audited for reinforcement of the same in the process.
